Barys will conclude their first road series of the season with a game against Vityaz in Balashikha.

Vityaz started the season with two wins, but they come into the game against the Kazakh team on a three-game losing streak. In their last match, Vityaz lost 2-3 to CSKA in Moscow. Goals were scored by Jeremy Roy and Yegor Morozov, while Dmitry Shikin made 26 saves. Head coach Pavel Desyatkov noted that while the team played well, they struggled with finishing their chances.

Vityaz has collected four points in six games. The team’s top scorer and goal-scorer is Derek Barach (4+1). Injured players include defensemen Grigory Vashchenko and Stuart Dean, as well as forwards Ilya Arkalov, Vladimir Galuzin, and Vladislav Tsitsyura.

Barys, after their first win of the season, was unable to score against Ak Bars in Kazan, losing 0-5. Despite taking 30 shots on Amir Miftakhov, none found the back of the net. Head coach David Nemirovsky mentioned that the team is lacking consistency and that the coaching staff expects more from the new players, who have yet to make a significant impact.

Barys has three points from six games. Michael McLeod (2+1) remains the team’s leading scorer. Viktor Antipin and Damir Zhafyarov have been added to the injury list.

The Vityaz – Barys match will begin at 19:00 Astana time.
A live broadcast will be available on the KHL channel.
