Snezhnye Barsy played their only home game of October, hosting Western Conference side Krasnaya Mashina Junior. Unfortunately, Ilgiz Nuriyev's team suffered a 1:2 defeat. A similar scenario had unfolded in their previous game in Nizhnekamsk. Despite creating numerous scoring chances and holding the statistical advantage, the Barsy were unable to secure a victory.
The deadlock was broken midway through the second period. Krasnaya Mashina Junior capitalized on a penalty to an Astana player, with Daniil Kuzmin finding the back of the net past Bogdan Yemelyanov. Shortly afterwards, Vladislav Anufriyev finished off an attacking move and scored on the rebound to tie the game.
Neither team managed to find a winner in the third period, sending the game to overtime. The visitors proved sharper in the extra period. With just 41 seconds remaining, Ruslan Furman scored the decisive goal to give his team the victory.
Snezhnye Barsy currently sit fifth in the standings with 11 points from 16 games.
