In the first game of the roadstand series, Barys lost to Ak Bars with a minimal difference.
Kirill Savitsk, who missed almost a month because of injury, returned to the starting lineup for the game against Ak Bars. Instead, he replaced Mikhail Rakhmanov, who went to the fourth line. In the defense line instead of Ivan Mishchenko played Yury Sergiyenko.
Home team opened the scoring. Ak Bars caught their opponents on change and Dmitry Voronkov beat Julius Hudacek with a shot from close range. Shortly before the siren, Adil Beketayev shot from the blue, and Anton Sagadeyev, who played well in another's perimeter, sent the puck into the net.
The second half passed without a goal. At the beginning of the final third, the guests had a chance at to capitalized on man-advantage. However, Kazan team responded to the situation better. Mikhail Glukhov led off the game on a shorthand and scored what turned out to be the decisive puck of the game. Andrei Skabelka's charges will play Dynamo in Moscow on February 3.
