Andrei Skabelka – Head Coach of Barys

Andrei Skabelka has been officially appointed head coach of Barys. Belarusian specialist is contracted for two seasons until April 30, 2024. 

The last job of the coach was Locomotive from Yaroslavl. Andrei Vladimirovich is well known to Kazakhstan fans. In 2018/19 season, Barys with Skabelka demonstrated the best result in history of regular championships in points scored. Under his leadership, Barys won the Chernyshev Division twice and reached semifinals of the Eastern Conference of the Gagarin Cup twice. Barys expects that return of the specialist to Kazakhstan will be as productive as it had been in the past. Next season, the club will focus on young Kazakhstan players.

In the near future, Skabelka, together with the club's management, will form his coaching staff, as well as complete Barys team for the upcoming season.

The Barys Hockey Club thanks Yuri Mikhailis and his entire coaching staff for their work. These professionals have made a huge contribution to development of our club, having worked in dignity for two seasons with the first team.
