Barys continued their home stretch with a matchup against Dinamo Minsk. There was just one lineup change for the Astana side – Ruslan Ospanov was replaced by KHL debutant Vyacheslav Kolesnikov. Notably, for the first time this season, Barys Arena was packed to full capacity, with 11,626 fans in attendance.
The visitors struck first in the sixth minute when Alex Limoges redirected a shot from the blue line into the net. The next goal didn’t come until late in the second period. Mason Morelli broke away one-on-one with the goalie but chose to dish the puck to Michael Vecchione, who scored his first official goal for Barys. Just a minute later, Limoges netted his second of the night, and with nine seconds left in the frame, Sam Anas extended Minsk’s lead.
That goal turned out to be the last of the game. On September 15, Mikhail Kravets’ squad will host Dynamo Moscow on home ice.
