Barys End Their Winless Streak

Barys concluded a long road trip in Yekaterinburg. Maxim Mukhametov replaced Emil Galimov in the game lineup. Nikita Boyarkin started in goal from the first minute.

The opening period saw the visitors with the upper hand, including a brief power-play opportunity. However, both teams went into the first intermission scoreless. Avtomobilist had only three shots on goal in this period, but that didn’t stop the hosts from opening the scoring in the middle of the game, as Stefan Da Costa caught Boyarkin out of position. Barys responded with a successful rebound finish by Tice Thompson following a shot from Jake Massie from the blue line.

The final period ended without goals, and the game went into overtime. Yaroslav Busygin delivered the decisive goal for Avtomobilist.

On January 15, Mikhail Kravets’ squad will host Neftekhimik in Astana.
