The teams traded four goals in the opening period. Barys responded to goals from Ivan Muranov and Dmitry Zavgorodniy with strikes from Dinmukhamed Kaiyrzhan and Semyon Simonov. Unfortunately, Barys forward Asanali Sarkenov was forced to leave the game early after sustaining an injury and was unable to continue.
The scoring continued in the second period. Alexander Volkov and Ivan Muranov added goals for Admiral, while Alikhan Omirbekov and Justin Bailey scored for Barys. For Bailey, it was his first goal for the Astana club.
The teams exchanged another pair of goals in the third period. Omirbekov completed his brace, before Chase Priskie scored the overtime winner to give Barys the victory.
As a result, Mikhail Kravets’ team finished the tournament with four points.
