Barys continued its road trip in Vladivostok. After serving a one-game suspension, Alikhan Asetov returned to the lineup for the Astana club.
The visitors controlled the early stages of the game and carried the momentum, though neither side managed to score in the opening period. Admiral’s best chance came from Libor Šulák, whose shot rang off the post.
The flow of the game changed in the second period, with the home side taking over puck possession. Still, Barys stayed solid defensively and capitalized on one of its few opportunities. Jake Massey made a brilliant individual play, weaving through four defenders before setting up Max Willman for the opening goal.
Nikita Tertyshnyy, with help from Samat Daniyar’s stick, ended Nikita Boyarkin’s shutout streak at 135 minutes and 57 seconds. Despite that, the win still went to the Kazakh club. Tais Thompson scored the game-winner during 4-on-4 play, while Boyarkin finished the night with 31 saves.
On March 13, Mikhail Kravets’ team will face Admiral once again.
