KHL. Before the match Barys - Sibir

Barys opens November season with a homestand game against Sibir.

Since the last meeting between two teams, it's been less than a week. Barys lost on the road stand, losing 3-4, missing out on a two-goal lead.

After that, Sibir celebrated its 60th anniversary with a solid homestand win over Severstal - 5:1. Taylor Beck had a double, the other three goals were scored by Vladimir Butuzov, Vyacheslav Osnovin and Nikita Korotkov, who has scored in three games in a row.  Goalkeeper Denis Kostin saved 26 shots. As Andrei Martemyanov noted, Severnstal had the initiative since the opening minutes, but Sibir came to its senses quickly and turned the game around.

At the beginning of the month, Sibir ranks fourth in the East and has 30 points after 25 games. Taylor Beck a team-best sharpshooter has been scoring points in the last nine games (24 points, 8+16). He is one of the top four most productive players of KHL. Trevor Murphy leads in scoring among the defensemen on the league's all-time scoring list with 21 points.

After five straight losses, Barys is on the verge of being eliminated from the Eastern Conference's top eight. On Saturday, they lost to Salavat Yulaev, in Ufa, 1-5. The only puck was scored by Yegor Petukhov. Julius Hudacek made 22 saves. Andrei Skabelka at a press conference said that he will make changes about certain players soon. One of those was the transfer the defenseman Christopher Bigras on the waivers list.

Currently, Kazakhstan team has 23 points on the scoreboard following the results of 25 meetings. Linden Vey remains the team's leading sharpshooter with 17 (11+6) points. Barys can't count on forwards Ansar Shaikhmeddenov, Michael Chaput and Nikita Mikhailis. Most likely, the upcoming game will also miss defenseman Samat Daniyar, who was injured while playing against Sibir.

The match at Barys Arena will begin at 19:30 capital time.
