In the first game of the road trip series, Barys lost to Metallurg, suffering its fourth consecutive defeat.

Instead of Alikhan Asetov, Artyom Korolev was in the team's matchday lineup - a graduate of Barys Children's and Youth Sports School made his debut in the Kontinental Hockey League.

The starting period passed with a slight advantage of the Astana players, who played twice on the power play. Arkady Shestakov hit the target with a shot from a sharp angle. In the second twenty minutes, Metallurg significantly improved and levelled the game. First, Robin Press had a great moment - the puck after his shot from an awkward angle went into the goal past Edward Pasquale, but Barys was saved by Adil Beketayev. But the guests' defence couldn't cope with a shot by Makar Khabarov, who played a great game on the rebound.

In the final third, the home team's advantage materialised into two more shots on goal. Both times, Egor Korobkin played perfectly in front of the goal. Kirill Savitsky brought intrigue back into the game, scoring two minutes before the final siren. But Barys couldn't save the game.

On 2 November, Galym Mambetaliev's wards will play in Yekaterinburg with Avtomobilist.
