In the final match of their road trip, Barys will face one of the Eastern Conference leaders, Avtomobilist. The Yekaterinburg team has lost three consecutive home games, and their goalless streak now stretches to nearly 140 minutes. In their last game, Avtomobilist fell 0:4 to Sibir, despite firing 33 shots on target, none of which could get past Denis Kostin. Meanwhile, Vladimir Galkin saved 18 shots from Sibir. Coach Nikolai Zavarukhin mentioned that counterattacks were the deciding factor in the loss.

Avtomobilist has earned 16 points in 13 games. Brooks Macek (3+5) and Anatoly Golyshev (2+6) are the team's top scorers. Curtis Valk remains on the injured list.

Barys struggled with discipline in their previous game against Avangard. The Omsk team capitalized on three power plays, leading to a dominant 4:0 victory. None of Barys' 20 shots found the back of the net, marking the third time this season they were shut out. Johan Mattsson saved 31 shots, while Tamirlan Gaitamirov played his 100th KHL game. Coach Vyacheslav Butsaev pointed out that technical errors led to costly penalties, but the team played well at even strength.

Barys remains with 5 points after 13 games. Roman Starchenko and Kirill Savitsky are likely to miss the game against Avtomobilist due to injuries.

The Avtomobilist – Barys game starts at 19:00 Astana time, with live broadcasts on Qazsport and KHL TV.
