Before the Barys vs. Amur match

In the third game of their home series Barys will face Amur. The Khabarovsk team hasn't had the best start to the current season as they have yet to score a single goal in the championship. Their Saturday away game against Vityaz ended in a 0-2 shutout defeat. Despite Amur's 29 shots on target Vityaz’s goalkeeper Maksim Dorozhko didn't allow them to score. Igor Bobkov made 19 saves. Amur’s head coach Andrey Martemyanov said he had almost no complaints about the team's effort and execution.

Amur is currently at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings. Forward Ilya Talaluev is on the injured list.

Barys has started the new season slightly better, but in their last game against Traktor, David Nemirovsky's team couldn’t secure any points (1-4). The lone goal for Barys was scored by Ruslan Ospanov, who, along with Wade Allison, is currently the team’s top scorer. Nikita Kamalov earned his first assist with the team. Johan Mattsson made 27 saves. Anton Burdasov played his 750th game in the KHL. Maksim Mukhametov made his debut for Barys, and Kirill Panyukov played his first game after rejoining the Kazakh team. Head coach David Nemirovsky mentioned in the post-game press conference that the crucial moment came in the second period, where his team made serious mistakes in their zone and allowed three goals.

With just one point, Barys is currently in 9th place in the Eastern Conference. Batyrlan Muratov and Vladislav Kodola remain on the injured list. On Saturday, Barys signed American forward Chase De Leo, who is expected to join the team on Wednesday. Today, another Barys academy graduate, Oleg Boyko, may play his first official KHL game.

The Barys vs. Amur match is scheduled to start at 19:00 Astana time.

The game will be broadcast live on the KHL channel.
