Before the game Barys – Dinamo Minsk

The third opponent for Barys in their home series will be Dinamo Minsk.

Dmitry Kvartalnov’s team missed out on victory in Nizhnekamsk (3:4) in their last game. In the first period, accurate shots from Sergey Kuznetsov, team newcomer Stanislav Galiev, and Ilya Usov gave the “Bisons” a solid advantage, but later Neftekhimik managed to seize the initiative and turn the game around. Dinamo goalie Vasily Demchenko stopped 23 shots on target.

The Minsk head coach noted that in the second and third periods his players stopped battling and skating, which led to many turnovers. After two games at the start of the regular season, Dinamo has two points.

For the first time in 11 KHL seasons, Barys has won both of their opening games. On Tuesday, the Astana team edged out Amur (4:3) in a shootout at home, ending a losing streak in head-to-head matchups with the Khabarovsk side. Riley Walsh and Kirill Savitskiy extended their scoring streaks, with Savitskiy also netting the game-winning goal. Emil Galimov scored his first official goal for the Kazakh club, while Dinukhamed Kaiyrzhan collected two assists. Andrey Shutov recorded 23 saves.

Head coach Mikhail Kravets said that after conceding two goals, the team showed character, and additional positive energy came from Tice Thompson’s fight. Barys has four points after two games.

The Barys – Dinamo Minsk game will start at 17:00 Astana time.

The live broadcast is scheduled on Qazsport.
