Before the Dynamo Moscow vs. Barys Game

Barys will wrap up a short road trip with a matchup against Dynamo Moscow, who just yesterday officially confirmed Vyacheslav Kozlov as the team’s head coach.

With Kozlov serving as interim head coach, the White-Blues put together a seven-game winning streak, including four shutouts. On Tuesday, Dynamo edged Spartak 1–0 in the Moscow derby. One of the league’s top scorers, Jordan Weal (10+24), netted the game-winning goal, while a healthy Vladislav Podyapolsky stopped all 26 shots he faced. Kozlov noted that in a tight, evenly played game, Dynamo’s top line made the difference.

Through 35 games, Dynamo has earned 48 points and remains firmly in the race for first place in the Western Conference. Dylan Sikura, with 16 goals, sits among the top five goal scorers in the league. Daniil Pylenkov (4+26) ranks second among KHL defensemen in scoring. Vladislav Podyapolsky is also among the league’s top goaltenders, posting a 1.99 goals-against average and a .928 save percentage. Defenseman Kirill Gotovets remains on the injured list.

Barys is coming off a convincing 4–1 road win over Avtomobilist. Semyon Simonov scored twice, while Michael Vecchione (his 10th goal of the season) and Max Willman added one goal each. Samat Daniyar, who assisted on both of Simonov’s goals, reached the 10-point mark (1+9) in the regular season for the first time in his career. Andrey Shutov made 33 saves in the win. Head coach Mikhail Kravets said the team was well prepared and executed the game plan.

Thanks to the victory in Yekaterinburg, Barys moved back into the top eight in the Eastern Conference. After 36 games, the team has 32 points. Defenseman Riley Walsh (9+26) continues to lead the club in scoring.
