Snezhnye Barsy edge Molot in a high-scoring game.

Today, the Astana team faced MHK Molot in Perm as part of a short February road trip. Anton Vasin’s squad came away with a 5–3 win.

The home side opened the scoring in the first period, and the Barsy didn’t respond until the second, when Asanali Ruslanuly buried a precise shot to tie things up.

Most of the action came late in the game. Denis Fedyaev and Daniil Pyankov scored twice in quick succession at even strength, seemingly putting the momentum firmly on Molot’s side. But the Astana team didn’t back down.

With about ten minutes left, the Barsy mounted an impressive comeback. Rasul Tursynov scored his first MHL goal to cut the deficit, followed by Zhakhanger Tileukhan, who netted his first in the league to tie the game. Timur Mindubayev then scored the game-winner, and Ilkhyon Ten added the final goal to seal it.

The rematch is set for February 18 at 6:30 PM Astana time.
