Snezhnye Barsy played their final home game of February today. Their opponent was the Kazan club Irbis Kazan. The Astana team sensationally defeated the leader of the Golden Division 2–1.
It is worth noting that the previous victory over this opponent dated back to 2019. In addition, this game became the 1000th match in the Youth Hockey League for Snezhnye Barsy.
The visitors opened the scoring in the first period when Rail Khusaenov found the net with a precise shot. Gradually, the initiative shifted to the home team, and with 29 seconds left before the siren, Mstislav Shipilin equalized the score.
No goals were scored in the second period. The outcome of the match was decided in the final frame, when Nikita Sitnikov scored the winning goal to put the Astana side ahead.
