As part of a trade between Barys and Gornyak, Kazakh goaltender Vladislav Nurek has joined the Astana club's system and signed a two-way contract through 31 May 2028. Heading the other way to Rudny is goaltender Vladimir Nikitin, while Gornyak also receives financial compensation.
Nurek spent the majority of his professional career with Gornyak. Last season was the best of his career statistically. In the Pro Ligasy regular season, he posted a 2.66 goals-against average and a .920 save percentage, helping his team earn 19 victories out of its 24 total wins.
Vladislav has also represented Kazakhstan at the IIHF U18 and U20 World Championships. In May, he received his first call-up to the Kazakhstan national team for the IIHF World Championship Division I Group A.
