In Astana, the semifinal series between Nomad and Kulager came to an end.
The team from Petropavl struck early, with Dmitry Stulov opening the scoring in the very first minute. However, midway through the period, veteran Roman Starchenko brought the home side back into the game. The turning point came late in the second period, when Dias Guseinov beat Denis Karatayev for the second time.
