The visitors wrapped up their recent home series with wins over Loko-76 and AKM-Novomoskovsk. Against the Yaroslavl team, they came out on top in overtime with a 3–2 score. Roman Kozhevnikov and Artemy Kulagin each found the net, while Vladimir Sivirchukov scored the game-winner. In their next matchup with AKM-Novomoskovsk, Dmitry Shulga’s players earned a confident 7–0 victory, with Kulagin scoring twice. Heading into the game in Astana, the “White Bears” sit 8th in the standings with 8 points in 8 games, and the team’s hottest player over the last five outings has been Yaroslav Fedoseev, who’s tallied 8 points (2 goals, 6 assists).
The “Snezhnye Barsy,” meanwhile, dropped their previous home game 0–5 to the “Steel Foxes,” despite creating solid scoring chances. Before that, the Astana team played a two-game series in Nizhnekamsk, losing 0–5 and 1–4. Their only goal in those matchups came from Alexander Simakhin.
