The opening period ended scoreless. Although the hosts were sent to the penalty box twice, they successfully withstood Sputnik's attacks while shorthanded and kept the puck out of their net. After 20 minutes, the visitors had a two-to-one advantage in shots.

Sputnik opened the scoring in the second period. Timofey Kolchin picked out the top corner following a pass from Ivan Bokaryov, beating Bogdan Yemelyanov. However, Almetyevsk's lead did not last long. Vladislav Anufriev was in the right place at the right time, redirecting a powerful shot from Artem Gasnikov past Danil Tychkin to level the score. It was Anufriev's first MHL goal.

Neither team was able to find the winning goal in the third period, sending the game into a five-minute overtime. With 1:16 remaining in overtime, three Snezhnye Barsy players were sent to the penalty box, making the hosts' already difficult situation even more challenging. Nevertheless, the Astana side successfully defended while shorthanded and took the game to a shootout.

The hosts went first in the shootout. Captain Aristarkh Kireev was the first to try to beat the Sputnik goaltender, but Tychkin turned aside his attempt. Vladimir Safonov then tried to score against Bogdan Yemelyanov, but the hosts' goaltender also came out on top.

Ilya Gromov beat the visiting goaltender to give the Barsy the lead in the shootout. Vilen Taziev, who had scored twice in the previous game, also found the net against Yemelyanov. Timur Mindubayev was next and skillfully beat Tychkin to put the puck into the net. Sputnik's final attempt came from Ruslan Karimov, but he was unable to score. Thus, Timur Mindubayev became the author of the winning goal.

Snezhnye Barsy have now climbed from last place to sixth in the standings. The team has six points after nine games.
