Barys Fall to Amur

Barys faced Amur in their second game at the Republic of Bashkortostan Cup.

The Astana coaching staff made significant changes to almost all line combinations, while also handing ice time to defenseman Beibarys Orazov and forwards Abzal Alibek and Kirill Panukov. Hunter Shepard made his debut in goal.

Just as in the game against Salavat Yulaev, the first goal against Barys came at the end of a penalty kill. Ivan Klimovich scored his third goal of the tournament. Five minutes before the intermission, Samat Daniyar joined the attack at the right moment and leveled the score. However, Khabarovsk went into the second period with the lead, as Artem Shvaryov scored 12 seconds before the buzzer.

Amur added another goal just five seconds before the end of the second period, with Alexander Dergachyov scoring on the power play. In the final period, Shvaryov and Klimovich both completed their braces, securing a convincing victory for the nominal hosts.

On August 20, Mikhail Kravets' team will play Lada in their final game of the tournament. The game starts at 13:00 Kazakhstan time.
