In their first game of winter, Barys faced CSKA in Moscow. The coaching staff of the Kazakh team shuffled Kirill Panyukov and Anton Burdasov within the top lines and introduced Mikhail Rakhmanov and Ruslan Ospanov into the fourth combination, replacing Dinmukhamed Kaiyrzhan and Vsevolod Logvin.
The opening period saw the home team dominate, gradually increasing pressure and creating dangerous chances around Nikita Boyarkin’s goal. Ruslan Iskhakov tested the post during a power play early on, and shortly after, Maxim Mamin opened the scoring from close range.
The second period followed a similar pattern. Late in the frame, CSKA appeared to double their lead, but a successful coach’s challenge from the Astana side nullified the goal. The teams entered the second intermission with CSKA holding a slim lead.
Early in the final period, Egor Fateev struck again, extending CSKA’s lead to two. With time winding down, Anton Burdasov finally ended his team’s scoring drought and Ivan Prosvetov’s shutout streak. However, the goal didn’t change the final outcome. Konstantin Okulov sealed the match with CSKA’s third goal.
On December 4, Galym Mambetaliev’s squad will host Spartak Moscow at home.
