Barys wrapped up their home stretch with a matchup against Sibir. The coaching staff opted to keep the same lineup from the previous game against Admiral.

The opening period was action-packed. The hosts struck first—Damir Zhafyarov displayed great patience before setting up Viktor Antipin, who netted his first goal in a Barys jersey. Sibir responded with a quick double—Vladimir Butuzov capitalized on a power play, while Pavel Gogolev took advantage of a defensive mistake and fired a shot into the top corner past Nikita Boyarkin. The teams went into the break tied, as Nikita Setdikov found the net in a 5-on-3 power play.

The second period saw Sibir take control. Butuzov and Taylor Beck both missed breakaway chances, but Yegor Alanov eventually found a way to beat the goalie, giving his team the lead.

In the final period, Sibir held onto their advantage for a long time. However, with just 26 seconds remaining in regulation, Nikita Setdikov, with the extra attacker on, forced the game into overtime. He then completed his hat trick in the extra frame, snapping Barys’ losing streak.

On January 31, Galym Mambetaliev’s squad will hit the road to face Avangard.
