In the final match of their away series, Barys faced off against Traktor in Chelyabinsk. Viktor Antipin and Alikhan Asetov returned to the lineup after recovering from injuries. Andrey Shutov started in goal from the first minutes.
The opening period was quite dynamic. The home team scored in the second minute with an unstoppable shot by Traktor's leader, Maksim Shabanov. After that, Barys created several chances. The most dangerous moment came from Mikhail Rakhmanov, who orchestrated a two-on-one counterattack, but Traktor's goaltender Sergey Mylnikov made a crucial save.
In the second period, Benoît Groulx's squad took control of the puck and spent extended time in the offensive zone. However, they struggled to create scoring opportunities in front of Andrey Shutov. Meanwhile, Traktor found their rhythm and executed two precise plays. Kirill Panyukov tied the score, and just before the intermission, Anton Burdasov delivered a message to his former team with a go-ahead goal.
Nonetheless, in the final period, Traktor managed to pull off the victory with accurate shots from Dylan Sikura and Alexander Kadeykin. On December 24, Galym Mambetaliev's team will face Traktor again, this time in the capital of Kazakhstan.
