Today, the national youth hockey championship kicked off in five cities across Kazakhstan. Defending champions Barys unexpectedly began the new season with an away loss to Arlan. Notably, all goals in the game were scored on special teams, with six of them coming on the power play. For Barys, the goals were scored by Onisim Ishchenko, Ansar Aldongar, and Yegor Levkovets. Goalie Arseniy Kuchkovsky made 29 saves.
