The first period was a closely contested affair, with few dangerous scoring chances. Early in the second, Semyon Ibragimov opened the scoring. A shot from an Admiral defenseman deflected off a player in a white jersey, changing direction before finding its way into the net.
Barys responded with two goals before the intermission. First, Garrett Pilon and Justin Bailey combined for a successful play, with Barys’ No. 8 scoring his 12th goal of the season. Shortly afterwards, Tais Thompson cut in from the wing towards the middle and beat Nikita Boyarkin for the second time.
The teams then traded goals, sending the game into overtime. Chase Priskie and Semyon Simonov scored for the visitors. However, just 23 seconds into the extra period, Alexander Volkov secured the win for Admiral.
On October 26, Mikhail Kravets’ team will face Avtomobilist in Yekaterinburg.
