In the second game of the away series, Barys played against Kunlun in Mytishchi. Alikhan Asetov missed the game due to medical reasons. Also left out of the lineup were Vsevolod Logvin and Batyrlan Muratov. Their spots were filled by Kirill Panyukov, Ansar Shaikhmeddenov, and Damir Zhafyarov, who played for the first time since November 3.

Barys had a decent start to the game and created a great counterattack with Ivan Nikolishin at the forefront. However, Kunlun’s goalkeeper Jeremy Smith came out on top in this duel. Soon after, something broke in Barys’ play, and Kunlun forced two penalties. Late in the first power play, a shot from Marten Lefevre from the blue line found its way into Nikita Boyarkin’s net, ending his shutout streak at 115 minutes and 46 seconds.

The second period saw significant game control by the visitors. Anton Burdasov hit the crossbar during one of their 100% scoring chances. Nikita Setdikov and Ilya Khokhlov also failed to get past Smith in close-range situations. Meanwhile, Kunlun capitalized on one of their few opportunities, with Parker Foo scoring on a rebound.

The scoreline remained unchanged in the final period. On December 21, Galym Mambetaliyev’s squad will play Traktor in Chelyabinsk.
