The group stage of the Youth Cup of Kazakhstan has concluded in Karaganda, Petropavlovsk and Ust-Kamenogorsk.
The final game in Group A was a face-off between the leaders, Karmet and Barys. The capital team had a strong start in the first half, scoring two goals through the efforts of Gleb Lukavenko and Ansar Aldongar. However, from that point on, only the home team managed to score.
Despite the defeat, Barys will continue their journey in the Cup, as the Astana team was the best among the second-place finishers across the groups. Interestingly, in the semifinals Rinat Omarbekov's squad will face Karmet again. The second semifinal will see Torpedo go up against Yastreby. The matches are scheduled for September 12 in Ust-Kamenogorsk, with the final set for September 13.
