Emil Nurgaliyev: "Now we should score in the season"

Defenseman Emil Nurgaliyev, scoring his first goal in a Barys jersey, gave a recap of the third preseason game against Lokomotiv.

- Had a good match today. Throughout the entire game we followed the coach's instructions, patiently waited for our chances. And it yielded results - we won the first match at the preseason tournaments.

- What did your dropped puck consist of?

- Coaches ask all defensemen, if there's a puck, immediately pounce on the gate. And that's how it turned out. Sanja Borisevich won a throw-in, the puck rebounded well. He threw it past the first player, but the puckstopper didn't see it, so it went in.

- Who will you dedicate your first puck in Barys?

- Now we should score in the season (he smiles) I'll dedicate this puck to my parents.

- We had to play a lot of defensive pressure today, including in the shorthanded position. Why do you still give your opponents many chances, almost in every game we stay in three?

- There's no guessing why this is the case. Sometimes the opponent pressures, sometimes we make mistakes ourselves. The key is to get the defense right in these situations. Everyone acted right today, catching throws. Eddie helped out nicely too.

- The third match with Lokomotiv this summer, and again a very tough and tense meeting.

- Good team, flexible, guys are fast. Controlling the puck well and constantly going into pressure. They don't give us much time to think. But it's good to play with such a team, then it will be easier.
