Barys forward Evgeni Rymarev shared his emotions after returning to the KHL and concluded the results of the roadstand confrontation with Traktor.
- Evgeni, welcome back! How's it feel?
- It's a great feeling, it's like coming home, everything's familiar, everything's my thing. An offer came in, we talked nuances. I made a decision that I will be in Barys.
- What has changed in the KHL during your absence?
- It's hard to say anything yet, I've only played one match. The only thing is, I think the three-second violation behind the goal made a big difference in the teams' entire strategy and the game as a whole. The VHL also introduced this rule, and hockey became completely different. I think everyone adjusts now and comes up with something new.
- The training staff tried a combination with you and Roman Starchenko, where Daniil Apalkov played in the center. How would you rate the actions of your unit?
- Of course, trainers know who should be played with whom. I would say that we still need to get used to it, even though Roma and I have already played together a lot. Let's break down who's running to where, who should be where, and where to open. I think a couple games and we'll be fine.
- At the same time in the match with "Traktor" you have already made several very dangerous attacks.
- Yes, we played well and had some chances. One or two should have scored, but unfortunately couldn't. We gave the opponent a chance, earned an unnecessary penalty, and Traktor took advantage of it. And, as the expression goes, you can't win with zero points.
- There was only one powerplay yesterday, and that was incomplete. Did we not play active enough, or did the opponent play that way?
- The opponent played disciplined. The referees did a good job. Yes, one powerplay, but changed improperly and broke the rules on their own. So we will get our chances in other matches.
- Barys is in a difficult situation right now and is still outside the playoff zone. How can the current situation be remedied?
- Through teamwork. Everyone on the team has to believe in winning and play to win. Then there'll be results.
- Ahead of the match with Metallurg, for many this confrontation has already become a principal one. What's it like for you?
- For me personally, this matchup won't be special. We need to get into the game, adapt at speed, make some quick decisions. The main thing is to win, so that the team has confidence, primarily in the actions in attack. We need to go out and play to win.
