KHL. Before the Dynamo Moscow vs Barys game

Barys completes the first road trip of the season with a meeting with Dynamo Moscow.

Alexei Kudashov's wards picked up a home shutout win over Sochi 4-0 last round.  Moscow's offensive leaders Nikita Gusev, Jordan Weal, who also made two assists, Eric O'Dell and Maxim Dzhioshvili added to their sniper accounts. Ilya Konovalov deflected all 26 shots on goal and played for zero for the 20th time in his KHL career. The Dynamo coach noted that his wards played fairly evenly and took advantage of their chances on the power play, but admitted that the team is still adjusting.

In four matches Dynamo have earned four points. Jordan Weal, who has 5 (2+3) points, is his team's top scorer. Defenceman Brendan Menell ranks among the KHL's top assist men with four assists.

Barys approaches another game with a series of four consecutive defeats. On Saturday, the Astana team lost to Avanagard 1:4 in Omsk. The scoreboard was equal until the middle of the third period. However, a pretty curious goal to Edward Pasquale, who deflected 35 shots, predetermined the further course of events. Nelson Nogier scored his first goal of the season. Andrei Skabelka complained about a lot of mistakes in the actions of his players, and also noted that the game was decided by individual errors.

So far, the Kazakhstan team has only two points. Riley Barber (1+3) moved to the top of the list of Barys' most productive players. Alex Grant and David Sklenicka are likely to miss the meeting with Dynamo. Kirill Savitsky is on the injured list and continues his recovery process.

Both face-to-face games between Dynamo and Barys last season remained in favour of the Moscow team (2:1 OT and 3:2).
