Korolev, Nikitin, Orazov and Lyapunov sign two-way contracts

Barys announced contract extensions with Kazakhstani players Artyom Korolev, Kirill Nikitin and Kirill Lyapunov (all three for one season through May 31, 2027), as well as Beibarys Orazov (for two seasons through May 31, 2028). All agreements are two-way contracts (KHL – Pro Ligasy).

The graduates of the Barys Youth Hockey School spent most of last season with Nomad, helping the team win the Kazakhstan Championship. In the KHL, Nikitin appeared in 9 games, Korolev played 11 games and recorded one assist, Orazov featured in 19 games with one assist, while Lyapunov played 21 games, registering 1 goal and 1 assist.

In May, Nikitin, Orazov and Lyapunov made their debuts for Kazakhstan’s national team at the IIHF World Championship Division I Group A tournament.

Leonid Metalnikov, General Manager of Barys:

“Extending contracts with our homegrown players is a step toward strengthening the club’s depth. The guys had an excellent season, winning the championship with Nomad. In addition, they gained valuable KHL experience and made their debuts for Kazakhstan’s senior national team. They are now our closest reserve, and we expect them to continue progressing.”
