In their opening game at the Channel One Cup in Novosibirsk, the Kazakhstan national team was defeated by Belarus. The only goal for our team was scored by Barys forward Ruslan Ospanov, who struck shorthanded early in the third period. Nikita Boyarkin made 45 saves.


On Sunday, December 14, Talgat Zhailauov’s team will face the tournament hosts, Russia. The game will begin at 16:00 Astana time.
