Author of the decisive shot was Nikita Mikhailis, while Yegor Yakovlev, Danila Yurov and Roman Kantserov scored in regulation time. Alexander Sudnitsin missed three pucks after 20 shots and was replaced by Ilya Nabokov, who kept his goal dry (11 saves).
Andrei Razin's team has 54 points after 37 matches. This result to date allows Magnitogorsk resident to take the first place in the regular championship. Danila Yurov (11+14) and Maxim Karpov (6+19) are Metallurg's most productive players at the moment. Robin Press (4+20) is a top-3 defenceman sharpshooter in the League. Defenceman Grigori Dronov and forward Danila Kvartalnov are on the injured list.
Barys on Monday lost to Vityaz (2:5) for the second time in the season. Kirill Savitski, who reached the 50-point mark in the KHL, and Arkadiy Shestakov scored goals. Edward Pasquale reflected 22 shots on goal.
After 36 games, the Astana team still has 27 points. Defenceman Christian Henkel is preparing to make his debut for his new team. In the near future, the coaching staff will have to do without forwards Ruslan Ospanov and Vsevolod Logvin - they are seconded to the youth national team of Kazakhstan, which began preparations for the upcoming World Cup.
