Before the Barys – Metallurg Match

In the third game of their home series, Barys will face the current Gagarin Cup holders from Metallurg.

On Saturday, Magnitogorsk defeated Sibir in Novosibirsk (5:2). Valery Orekhov scored twice, while Andrey Kozlov, Dmitry Silantyev, and Daniil Vovchenko each added a goal. Ilya Nabokov made 22 saves. Andrey Razin noted that his team had a rough start but managed to take control as the game progressed.

After 55 games, Metallurg has earned 70 points. The team's top scorer, Robin Press, has 33 points (3 goals, 30 assists). Defenseman Vladislav Yeryomenko remains on the injury list.

Barys lost their previous home game to Lada (2:4). Mstislav Shipilin and Kirill Lyapunov scored their debut KHL goals. The team's top scorer, Anton Burdasov (12 goals, 5 assists), returned to the lineup after an injury. Galym Mambetaliev stated that his players fought hard for two and a half periods but then unexpectedly lost momentum.

The Kazakh team has 29 points after 55 games. Nikita Boyarkin, who was injured in the last game, is undergoing additional medical examination and will miss tonight's match. Kazakhstan national team players have returned to the club. However, due to baggage transportation delays, only Andrey Shutov, Adil Beketayev, Kirill Savitsky, and Alihan Omirbekov will be included in the lineup for the match against Metallurg.
