Barys will continue their first September home series with a matchup against Salavat Yulaev. The game will be part of the Super Star 48 celebration series and will honor Kazakhstani hockey legend Roman Starchenko.
The Ufa side have made a strong start to the season, picking up two road wins. On Monday, Viktor Kozlov’s team shut out Avangard 4–0 in Omsk. Jack Rodewald, Nikita Shcherbakov, Yaroslav Tsulygin and newly signed star forward Vadim Shipachyov scored for the team from the capital of Bashkortostan. Semyon Vyazovoy stopped all 41 shots he faced. Following the game, Salavat Yulaev head coach Viktor Kozlov praised his players’ commitment and discipline.
Barys opened their 19th KHL season with a commanding 7–1 victory over Sibir. Justin Bailey scored twice in his debut for the team, while Chase Priskie and Garrett Pilon added one goal each. Young Kazakhstani players Vsevolod Logvin, Dinmukhamed Kaiyrzhan and Semyon Simonov also found the back of the net. Another Barys newcomer, goaltender Hunter Shepard, made 28 saves. Mikhail Kravets thanked the 10,000 fans in the stands for their support and highlighted the cohesive play of all four forward lines.
The Barys – Salavat Yulaev game will start at 19:00 Kazakhstan time.
The pre-game show will begin at 18:40. Fans are asked to arrive at the arena on time and take their seats in advance.
