Neftekhimik and Barys are set to face off in Nizhnekamsk for the second time in three days.

On Monday, Neftekhimik, celebrating their 1,000th game in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), claimed a 4-1 victory. Accurate shots by Nikita Khoruzhev, Vladimir Bryukvin, Yevgeny Mityakin, and Bogdan Kiselevich secured the win for the home team. Goaltender Filipp Dolganov made 26 saves. Barys’ Batyrlan Muratov scored for his team, marking the debut goal of the season for number 81. Barys’ goaltender Nikita Boyarkin made 20 saves. Oleg Leontyev commented that the return of Bryukvin and Di from injury has given his team a boost in energy and confidence. Galym Mambetaliyev added that his team is on the mend, with players coming up from the farm team gaining valuable experience.

Neftekhimik currently holds 24 points after 26 games, while Barys has 14 points from 24 games. The evening’s match could also see the KHL debut of Abai Mangisbayev.

The Neftekhimik vs. Barys game will begin at 9:00 p.m. Astana time. A live broadcast will be available on the Qazsport channel.
