In their first game of the winter, Barys will face Sibir on the road. An interesting detail: this will already be the third head coach leading the Novosibirsk team against Barys this season. After the dismissals of Vadim Yepanchintsev and Vyacheslav Butsayev, the team is now coached by Yaroslav Luzenkov.
In the previous game, Sibir lost at home to Avtomobilist (2:4). Notably, the Yekaterinburg side generated only 17 shots on target — Anton Krasotkin stopped 14 of them. Head coach Mikhail Kravets said that several players lost their discipline in the second period, which ultimately affected the result.
The Kazakh team continues its season with 27 points after 32 games. Michael Vecchione, who missed the game in Magnitogorsk due to injury, is expected to return to the lineup.
