YHL leavers - Artur Gatiyatov

The Press Service of Barys closes a series of publications about hockey players from the club system who have officially completed their path in youth hockey. A leaver of the Youth Hockey League last season was striker Artur Gatiyatov.

The sportsman made his YHL debut on September 4, 2017. And in his first game, Artur scored the winning goal, and Snezhnye Barsy beat the Steel Foxes on the road. In that season, the forward played 56 games and earned 45 (15+30) points, becoming the second scorer in the team.

The Season 2018-19 was the most productive for the player. In the regular season of the YHL, Gatiyatov scored 67 points (24+43) in 56 matches – the best result in the team. He also proved himself at the World Youth Championship in Canada. The national team of Kazakhstan retained its registration in the elite division, and Artur earned 8 (5+3) points, entering the top three most productive players of the tournament.

The striker spent most of last season at Nomad. As a member of Snezhnye Barsy, he went on the ice in 9 matches and recorded 12 (5+7) points. It is noteworthy that in the first November meeting with Reactor Gatiyatov earned 6 (3+3) points. It is also worth noting that at the end of last season, the sportsman made his debut in the KHL with Barys.

In general, Artur played 127 games in the YHL and scored 125 (45+80) points.

In early July, the striker accepted Barys' offer and signed a two-way contract for 2 seasons.

- The YHL is a good, interesting League. There are a lot of strong teams. It was always nice to play against them. This is especially felt when you go to play from the Junior League to the Youth League. High speeds, you need to make a quick decision. You get used to it over time. I would like to thank the coaches I have worked with over the past three seasons. I got quite a lot of playing time, I was trusted. So I had a good opportunity to grow professionally in the YHL.
