Yuri Mikhailis was officially appointed as the new head coach of Barys.

Yuri Mikhailis was officially appointed as the new head coach of Barys.
The contract with the club was signed for 1 year.

Date and place of birth: 23.04.1969, Karaganda, USSR. 
He spent his playing career as a defender. He started his coaching career in 2007. He has been working in Barys HC system for 13 years. He was a coach of Barys-2, Snejnye Barsy, and Nomad teams.
In 2017, Nomad under the leadership of Yuri Vladimirovich became the Champion of Kazakhstan, and also won silver medals at the 2017/18 Continental Cup.
Last season, Yuri Mikhailis spent his debut campaign with Nomad in the championship of the Highest Hockey League.
In addition, Yuri has a successful experience working with the national teams of Kazakhstan. As an assistant, Mikhailis led Kazakhstan's national teams to awards at the junior, youth and adult World Championships, as well as the Universiade (2017 and 2019) and the Asian Games.   

In the new season, Barys decided to entrust the management of the team to a trainee of Kazakhstan hockey. Yuri Vladimirovich has been working in Barys structure since 2007. He is quite familiar with the organization, players and the entire club hierarchy. The coaching staff of Yuri Mihalis will be formed and published at a later date.
