The women's hockey tournament at the 9th Winter Asian Games has concluded in Harbin, China. Under the guidance of the Tomiris coaching staff, led by Alexander Tebenkov and Zhasulan Orazbayev, Team Kazakhstan achieved a historic milestone by securing the silver medals.
In the preliminary round, the Kazakh team finished first in their group, defeating Hong Kong (12:0), Thailand (9:0), Chinese Taipei (5:1), and South Korea (1:0 OT). Despite falling to eventual champions Japan, Kazakhstan claimed a hard-fought victory over China (2:1) for the first time in years and once again overcame South Korea (3:0).
The national team’s roster included eight players from Tomiris: goaltender Arina Shchyokolova, defensemen Yulia Butorina, Alexandra Voronova, and Dariya Moldabay, as well as forwards Ekaterina Kutsenko, Anastasia Orazbayeva, Nadezhda Filimonova, and Alexandra Shegay.
