Barys claim their first playoff victory

The quarterfinal series of the Kazakhstan Youth Championship between Barys and Sunkar got underway in Astana.

Leonid Shakenov scored Barys’ first goal of the current playoff campaign, opening the scoring after a strong play in the offensive zone. In the third period, Shakenov once again demonstrated his scoring touch in front of the net, extending Barys’ lead. Svyatoslav Kharchenko set the final score. Leonid Kravtsov made 24 saves to record a shutout.
