Before the game: Barys – Admiral

Barys Astana will host Admiral Vladivostok in their final home game of the regular season. This will be the third consecutive meeting between the teams from Astana and Vladivostok.

Last week, the teams split their two games in Vladivostok in regulation time: 2–1 in favor of Barys and 6–2 in favor of Admiral. In the most recent matchup, Vsevolod Logvin and Tye Thompson scored for Barys. Logvin also reached the 20-point mark (9 goals + 11 assists) for the first time in his career this season.

For the home side in that game, the goals were scored by Dmytro Tymashov, Yegor Chezganov, Pavel Shen, Vyacheslav Osnovin, Dmitry Zavgorodniy and Dmitry Deryabin. Head coach Oleg Bratash noted that his players are starting to develop the right mindset for the game. Meanwhile, Barys head coach Mikhail Kravets said his team struggled defensively and took too many unnecessary penalties in the final period.

Admiral currently has 48 points in 65 games. The team’s leading scorer is defenseman Libor Šulák with 14 goals and 29 assists. The injured list includes defensemen Mario Grman and Semyon Ruchkin, as well as forwards Alexander Daryin, Vladislav Kara and Ivan Muranov.

Barys has 53 points after 66 games. The team’s top scorers are Michael Vecchione (19+25) and Riley Walsh (15+29). Forward Ansar Shaikhmeddenov remains out with an injury.
