As part of the trade between «Barys» and SKA, the Kazakh club has secured the rights to Nikita Kamalov. The Astana club's agreement with the Russian defenseman will last for two seasons until May 31, 2026. The Saint Petersburg club received monetary compensation in return.
The defenseman has played nearly 400 games in the KHL, representing Novokuznetsk «Metallurg», Khabarovsk «Amur», «Sochi», and SKA, where Kamalov played for the last two and a half years. In the past regular season, Nikita earned 6 points (2 goals + 4 assists) in 37 games and added one goal and one assist in four playoff matches.
Over the course of two seasons, the hockey player also participated in various international tournaments as part of the «Russia-25» team.
