The international youth tournament UTLC Ice Cup will bring together the top young hockey players from across Eurasia for the fifth time, under the slogan "Young Eurasian Stars." The games will take place from April 12 to 17 at Barys Arena in Astana.
This hockey event is the second major sports initiative by JSC UTLC ERA, following the prestigious annual UTLC Cup football tournament held at RZD Arena in Moscow.
This year, alongside the host team Barys, the contenders for the trophy include Avangard Omsk, SKA Army from St. Petersburg, GLC Beijing, Dinamo Minsk, and Lokomotiv Yaroslavl.
Alexey Grom, CEO of JSC UTLC ERA:
"I warmly welcome all the players, organizers, fans, and guests of our sports celebration. My heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to making this tournament happen! Astana is once again becoming the youth hockey capital of Eurasia. I'm confident that young hockey stars from four countries across our continent will showcase their top-level skills, while fans passionately cheer for their favorite teams. I wish everyone unforgettable emotions and encourage all participants to fight with honor and determination for our UTLC Ice Cup 2025! I'm personally looking forward to that opening whistle and invite everyone to join us at the magnificent Barys Arena!"
The draw and pre-tournament press conference will be held on April 12 at Barys Arena. Group stage games are scheduled for April 13–15, and the final match will take place on April 17.
Fun fact: Lokomotiv Yaroslavl has claimed the title three times, while CSKA has lifted the trophy once.
